Time for a Change

It's finally happened!  After weeks of preparation, interviews and anticipation, you've been offered the position. It may have started with a call from a MedTeam Staffing recruiter, and what began as a curious whim to give him or her a few minutes of your time, is now an exciting opportunity to change your life and the direction of your career. But now you find that reality is beginning to sink in and you're becoming anxious about making the change. Don't panic. What you're feeling is normal during the process of change.

Successfully managing change in our careers is a big step and often a stressful one that involves many emotions. Feelings of insecurity and self-doubt begin to erase the positive thoughts about making the change. You wonder if you can handle additional responsibilities that coincide with a new title and improved compensation package. You're saddened to leave the friends you've made and more than just a little anxious about how you will fit in with your new peers. You realize that even the voice mail system will be new and remember the tumultuous experience of learning all the ins and outs.

Recognizing and discussing concerns with your MedTeam Staffing recruiter can help minimize anxiety, reinforcing the positives that initially interested you in the new opportunity (i.e. state-of-the-art equipment, the opportunity to cross-train in new modalities, greater responsibility).

To help you reach a rational decision, your recruiter may suggest that you prepare a list of pluses and minuses for both your current position and your new opportunity. This will help clear the cloud of emotion and provide a more objective perspective from which to make a sound decision. Usually, the pluses outweigh the minuses. After all, you probably never would have pursued the opportunity if you weren't at least a little dissatisfied in your current position. In other words - You're ready for a change.

Once you've made a commitment to advance your career, your recruiter will assist you with a resignation letter, advise you on the perils of counter offers and counsel you through the transition period.

New Changes Await You, As Do New Opportunities.

Celebrate Change!
